C. percivaliana coerulea 'Listras'
C. percivaliana coerulea 'Listras' Purchased from Azabu Nursery years ago, this individual is likely a seedling selection of unknown parentage. Although a coerulea form, the color intensity is subtle; the delicate pale blue of the petals is difficult to reproduce accurately in iPhone photography. The extensive gold in the lip is perhaps the more significant highlight of this specimen. Photographed: January 2026

C. jenmanii alba 'Mt.Fuji' has bloomed
C. jenmanii alba 'Mt. Fuji' is currently in bloom. 'Mt. Fuji' is an exceptional specimen, truly deserving of its namesake. The flowers exceed 16 cm in NS, featuring full petals, superior form, and an intense fragrance. Alba forms of C. jenmanii are rare; this is undoubtedly one of the fines

C. trianae trilabelo 'Sexy Shot' C. trianae trilabelo 'Sexy Shot' has bloomed . "Sexy Shot" is a trilabelo clone selected by Wakayama Orchid, and is considered one of the best of its type. The cross is Nikita x Pero. Many trilabello trianaes, have a drawback in the shape of their petals, which are often not fully spreaded. However "Sexy Shot" hardly exhibits this drawback. On the contrary, it sometimes over-unfolded, just like our blooming this time. This may stem from that r

How to get rid of scale insects
Scale insects are pests that occur all year round. This is more likely to occur during hot weather or when there is poor ventilation. They will weaken the plant so be sure to eradicate them immediately when appearing. First, check the entire plant. They tend to appear in hard-to-see places such as the undersides of leaves and the base of the plant. Gently scrub the scale insects off with a damp tissue or a used toothbrush.
