How to get rid of scale insects

Scale insects are pests that occur all year round. This is more likely to occur during hot weather or when there is poor ventilation. They will weaken the plant so be sure to eradicate them immediately when appearing.

First, check the entire plant. They tend to appear in hard-to-see places such as the undersides of leaves and the base of the plant. Gently scrub the scale insects off with a damp tissue or a used toothbrush. Then spray with insecticide.

Insecticides can be purchased at gardening stores.This time, I used scale insect aerosol sold by Sumitomo Chemical Gardening.Please read the instructions for each insecticide carefully before use.
